Analytics & Cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site. GA4 may set the following cookies when you accept analytics:

  • _ga — Distinguishes unique users. Expires after 2 years.
  • _ga_<ID> — Maintains session state. Expires after 2 years.

Google Consent Mode v2

We implement Google Consent Mode v2. When you first visit the site, analytics cookies are denied by default. Google may still receive anonymous, cookieless pings to provide basic aggregated analytics data.

  • If you accept cookies, GA4 operates fully with the cookies listed above.
  • If you decline, no analytics cookies are set. Google may still receive anonymous pings without any personally identifiable information.

How We Store Your Consent Preference

Your cookie consent choice is saved in your browser's localStorage (not in a cookie). This means:

  • It is never sent to our servers or any third party.
  • It persists across sessions so you are not asked repeatedly.
  • You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

Log Files

Like many websites, our hosting provider (Netlify) collects standard log data including IP addresses, browser type, referring pages, and timestamps. This information is not linked to any personally identifiable data.

Third-Party Services and affiliate links

We display affiliate links from music retailers and online learning platforms (Thomann, Sweetwater, Amazon, MercadoLibre, Reverb, TrueFire, JamPlay, Pickup Music). These links are clearly tagged with an "Ad" badge.

To pick the right store for your country we use Netlify's geolocation request headers and a technical cookie called gctb-region. When you click an affiliate link we log the event (partner, creative, country, page and an anonymous hash of your IP+UA) so we can improve recommendations. If you reject advertising consent in the cookie banner we stop sending events to Google Analytics.
