Custom Progressions
Create and edit your own chord progressions
What Can You Build?
This chord progression builder lets you create fully custom harmonic sequences. Organize your progression into sections (A, B, C...), each with editable bars and configurable beats per chord. Play back your creation with synthesized piano, programmable drums with three patterns assignable per bar (A, B, Break) and style presets (Swing, Bossa, Latin), and automatic walking bass. Transpose the entire progression ±12 semitones with one click, or pick the key from the selector. When you are satisfied, export to MIDI with all sections, drum patterns, and assignments to import into your favorite DAW.
Scales and Arpeggios for Each Chord
Enable Chord Scale Mode to see the compatible scale for each chord in your progression — Dorian over minor chords, Mixolydian over dominants, Lydian over maj7#11 chords, and more. Manually choose from pentatonic, modal, and blues scale groups, or let the system auto-detect whether your progression is major or minor. Each chord also shows alternative arpeggios and superimpositions. The interactive fretboard and piano keyboard update in real time with fullscreen zoom, available for guitar, bass, ukulele, and piano across multiple tunings.
Drum Pattern Builder
Create your own drum patterns with the visual 16-step grid. Define three independent patterns — A, B, and Break — and assign them bar by bar to create dynamic arrangements. Use the style presets as a starting point (Swing, Bossa Nova, Latin, Rock, Pop) and customize them to your taste. Save your favorite patterns as custom presets to reuse in future progressions.
